That Can Build A.I.<br />Jean-François Gagné, the chief executive of an independent machine-learning lab called<br />Element AI, refers to the process as “a new kind of computer programming.”<br />In building a neural network, researchers run dozens or even hundreds of experiments across a vast network of machines,<br />testing how well an algorithm can learn a task like recognizing an image or translating from one language to another.<br />“We are following the same path that computer science has followed with every new type of technology,” said Joseph Sirosh, a vice president at Microsoft, which recently unveiled a tool to help coders build deep neural networks, a type of computer algorithm<br />that is driving much of the recent progress in the A. I.<br />With it, Google may soon find a way to create A. I.<br />technology that can partly take the humans out of building the A. of the Living Dead, a 1968 horror film directed by George A. Romero,
follows a group of survivors as they fight to stay alive during a zombie
apocalypse. Here is a plot line summary:
The film begins with a mysterious
event: a funeral procession is interrupted when a man named Ben (played
by Duane Jones) discovers a mysterious woman, Barbara (played by Judith
O'Dea), wandering aimlessly outside the cemetery. As they try to escape
the undead, Barbara's boyfriend, Harry (played by Russell Streiner), is
killed by a zombie. Ben and Barbara seek refuge in a nearby farmhouse,
where they find a group of other survivors.
As night falls, the zombies become
more active and attack the farmhouse. Ben and Barbara barely make it
inside, but Barbara is bitten by one of the undead. Ben, fearing for his
own life, locks Barbara in the basement, intending to return for her
once the coast is clear.
The survivors, now trapped in the
farmhouse, struggle to survive as the zombies relentlessly attack. As
the situation becomes increasingly dire, tempers flare and tensions rise
among the group. In the end, only one survivor remains, Ben, who is
eventually killed by a group of raiders who mistake him for one of the
undead. The film ends with the eerie image of Ben's corpse lying in the
dirt, surrounded by the living dead.

La fonte des glaces a considérablement réduit la surface habitable sur la Terre. Le strict contrôle des naissances a nécessité le développement de robots à l'aspect humain, les "mécas". L'un d'eux, David, tout juste mis au point, est capable d'éprouver des sentiments. Il est adopté par Henry et Monica dont le fils, atteint d'une maladie incurable, a été cryogénisé. David ne souhaite qu'une seule chose : être aimé par sa "maman". Mais des incidents contraignent vite Monica à abandonner son "fils" et son super-nounours Teddy en pleine forêt.
